WSUS Test URL for Windows Server Update Services
If you want to test your local connection to your Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) server, you only need to run a simple URL on the client system to check:
- The Ports are Open.
- The Connection has been successfully made.

Once you type in that URL, Internet Explorer will ask you to download the file:

Verifying The Connection
Once you have tested that this WSUS Test URL can be resolved from the client, you can fully verify that the WSUS client can establish a connection to the WSUS server properly.
This method can also be used for the HTTPS URL and Port as well as using the next port and the different protocols as seen below.
